Changes & Reminders for 2009

ü  HOTEL ROOMS

·         Packages do NOT include Hotel Rooms!

·         Reservations should be booked by using the hotel link at www.coloradostarball.com or by calling The Westin directly at 303-410-5000 or 800-937-8461.  

·         The room rate is $119 plus tax. Please book early! We sold out of rooms in 2008!  Cut-off date is May 25th, 2009

 

ü  NEW GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP RULES

·         Students may NOT enter both Bronze & Silver scholarship levels in the same style.

·         Students MAY enter both the Silver & the Open scholarships in the same style.

·         Students MUST enter the scholarship level of the highest single dance entry level in a style. 

For example: If a student enters single dance entries in Full Bronze and Pre-Silver they would be eligible for the Silver Scholarship NOT the Bronze Scholarship in that style.

 

ü  “MILE HIGH DANCE CAMP”

·         Enjoy the instructors and styles of your choice at the Colorado Star Ball this year!!! Don’t miss classes with instructors from all over the world!

 

ü  NEW VENUE

·         We are moving to the luxurious Westin Westminster Promenade. This four star property has a bigger ballroom and a great room rate of $119 per night plus tax for Colorado Star Ball participants. It is located in the heart of the Westminster Promenade with shopping and great restaurants right next door! The closing Date for hotel is May 25, 2009.

·         Open Nite-Club 3-Dance Championship Scholarship – West Coast Swing, Hustle, NiteClub 2-step

·         Open Latin-Club 3-Dance Championship Scholarship  – Salsa, Merengue, Bachata

 

ü  PAPER SAVING CAMPAIGN

·         In an effort to minimize paper usage we are not including our entry forms in this package. All the forms are available at www.coloradostarball.com or give us a call at 303-412-1213 and we can send you complete set of entry forms.

 

ü  TOP TEACHER RULES

·         To qualify a teacher must submit a minimum of 75 entries.

·         All top teacher points per the World Pro/Am Dancesport Series rules. Visit www.dancesportseries.com for complete details.

·         All entries must be danced to count toward top teacher.

·         All uncontested and discounted (ie: Junior, etc.) entries will be 1/2 points.

·         Student/Student Freestyle and Solo Entries do NOT count toward top teacher awards; however they WILL count for Top Teacher Bonus Money.  Amateur Couple entries in Multi dance competitions do NOT count toward top teacher prizes or bonuses.

 

ü  FIRST DAY OF SUMMER CELEBRATION & WACKY HAT DAY:

·         Saturday matinee session wear your summer duds, beach clothes, shorts, sun glasses, etc.

·         Sunday matinee session wear your wackiest headgear! Prizes for wackiest hats!
