Official Rules
  1. Restricted Categories: All closed divisions will be invigilated using the current NDCA list of elements and restrictions. Penalties may be given without warning for any syllabus infractions.
  2. Closed Single Dance: Students may dance up to 3 levels and 2 age groups in the closed single dance.
  3. Open Single Dance: Students may enter as many levels and age groups as they wish in the Open One Dance Championships.
  4. Championships & Scholarships:There are no restrictions for Multi-Dance & Scholarship Events. Bronze Students may dance up to Silver & Open.
  5. Amateur Events: Syllabus Amateur Couples are restricted to syllabus material. Costumes are ALLOWED except for pre-teens. See the NDCA rulebook for details. There are no restrictions in the Adult Amateur Novice, Pre-Champ or Championship divisions.
  6. Top Teacher Awards: To qualify a teacher must submit a minimum of 75 entries. All entries must be danced to count toward Top Teacher. All uncontested and discounted (ie: Junior, etc.) entries will be 1/2 points. Student/StudentFreestyleandSoloEntriesdoNOTcounttowardtopteacherawards;howevertheyWILL count for Top Teacher Bonus Money. Amateur Couple entries in Multi dance competitions do NOT count toward top teacher prizes or
  7. Top Teacher Bonus rules: This money is paid in ADDITION to any Top Teacher Prize Money. Any Professional who enters and dances pro/am or has student/student single dance freestyle entries will be paid according to the bonus money schedule as stated on the prize money
  8. Top Teacher Multi Dance MVP: Teachers accumulate points based on student placements in the scholarship and multi-dance events.
  9. Entry Deadline: The organizers cannot accept responsibility for accuracy of entries submitted after the deadline date. Any payments made after the deadline must be in the form of cash, cashiers check, money order or credit card. Entries submitted after the deadline may be subject to late entry
  10. Cancellations & Refunds: The deadline for cancellation refunds without penalty is two (2) weeks prior to the event. A letter requesting refund of payments must follow cancellations. All refunds will be made 30 days following the event. No refunds will be made if cancellation is made within two (2) weeks of the event. Cancelled entries taken at the event cannot be substituted by another entry. There are no refunds or exchanges on general admission
  11. Registration Requirements: All Professional competitors and Amateur Novice, Pre-Champ and Championship competitors are required to register with the National Dance Council of America (NDCA).
